According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2021, the consumer price index rose by 1.8% compared to October 2021 and by 8.8% compared to November 2020. Goods were 7.6% and services 11.2% more expensive than in November last year.

According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia decreased 1.4% in the 1st quarter of 2014 compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2023, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.7 billion euros. Compared with November 2022, exports of goods decreased by 12% and imports by 19% at current prices. The trade deficit in November was 200 million euros, which is 198 million euros less than a year earlier.

According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, 1,324,820 persons lived in Estonia on 1 January 2019, which is 5,687 persons more than at the same time a year earlier. In 2018, the population figure decreased by 1,384 persons due to negative natural change, but increased by 7,071 persons as a result of positive net migration.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2018, the unemployment rate was 5.2%, the employment rate was 68.2% and the labour force participation rate was 72%. The unemployment rate remained low and is similar to that of economic boom years. The employment rate and the labour force participation are even higher than during the boom years. Employment of older persons is at a record high.

What kind of survey is it? The aim of the Farm Structure Survey is to provide comparable data on all agricultural holdings across the European Union (EU). Agriculture produces almost 100% of food, covers around 40% of the European Union’s territory, and takes up about 40% of the EU budget. The European Statistics Competition 2020, organised by the European statistical office Eurostat, takes place in 17 countries. Basic school, secondary school and vocational school students are invited to participate. The best teams in Estonia are awarded and will have the opportunity to participate in the international phase of the competition.
