According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 13% and imports by 22% compared with July 2021. Re-exports from Estonia grew by 43%; exports of domestic goods remained at the same level year on year.

Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 108,000 foreign and 109,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in March 2025. “The number of foreign tourists was 7% lower than in March last year and it was also smaller compared with March 2019 (down by 13%),” explained Laurmaa. Similarly to the earlier months of this year, accommodation establishments served more domestic than foreign tourists in March. The number of domestic tourists in March was 11% smaller than in the same month last year. Laurmaa added that the number of domestic tourists was at the same level

According to Statistics Estonia's survey on information technology, the use of artificial intelligence-based technologies has risen significantly in 2024 compared with the previous year, and cyber security has become increasingly important. 5% of enterprises used at least one AI technology in 2023, whereas in 2024, this figure has risen to 14%. Of large enterprises, 10% said they had experienced a disclosure of confidential data.

In the second quarter of 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.6% year on year. The GDP at current prices was 9 billion euros.

According to Statistics Estonia, in December 2014 compared to December 2013, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 6% at constant prices. Since August, the retail sales growth has remained within a stable of 5–6% compared to the same month of the previous year.
