Riin Kadarik, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that manufacturing output declined in March, similarly to February. “The decline was mainly due to the 4.1% decrease in the manufacture of food products. The output of the manufacture of food products has fallen for three months now – the year-on-year decrease was 6.9% in January and 5.3% in February. According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2010 compared to October 2009, exports of goods from Estonia grew by 47% and imports to Estonia by 38%. Bigger growth in exports compared to imports decreased also the trade deficit.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in March 2009 exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 8.3 billion kroons at current prices and imports to Estonia 10 billion kroons. Compared to March of the previous year, both exports and imports decreased, but compared to the previous month increased.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in February the foreign trade deficit accounted for 1.1 billion kroons. The trade deficit was on such a low level last in May 2001.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2013 compared to October of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 7% at constant prices. In September the retail sales increased 4% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in October the retail sales growth accelerated to some extent.

According to Statistics Estonia there were 2.6 million cinema visits in 2014, which is an all-time record since the restoration of independence. In the last nine years, cinema attendance has increased each year.
