Goods were 7.6% more expensive and services 0.8% cheaper than in August last year. The last time that the change of the consumer price index compared with the same month of the previous year was smaller than 4.6% was in June 2021, when it was 3.8%.

Statistics Estonia’s wages and salaries application now includes wages data for the first quarter of 2020. Also, median wages for 11 more groups of occupations were added.

It is estimated that 17% of the native Estonian-speaking population speak a dialect. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census. The share of dialect speakers has increased the most in Hiiu and Saare counties, but it has not decreased in any county. 10% of dialect speakers speak more than one dialect.
