According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the population of Estonia on 1 January 2023 was 1,357,739, an increase by 2% (or 25,943 people) compared with a year earlier. Ene-Margit Tiit, an expert in population statistics, took a closer look at how many ethnic Estonians live here and how many Estonians there are in the world.

Secure data interoperability Statistics Estonia received 1,099,300 euros via the innovation fund for the project “Secure data interoperability between sectors”. The innovation fund is administered by the Government Office of Estonia, and its activities and projects are funded under the European Union Cohesion Policy 2021–2027 measure “Development of innovation capacities in the public sector”. The aim of the project is to create a framework for data interoperability between the private and public sectors. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2009, 2.1 million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments. Compared to the previous year, the number of tourists decreased by a tenth.
In March, the number of tourists using the services of accommodation establishments remained at the previous year’s level

According to Statistics Estonia, 194,000 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in March 2014. The number of foreign tourists remained at the level of the previous year and there were 1% fewer domestic tourists.
