In the Population and Housing Census, which starts at the end of the year, among else, people will be able to give an assessment of their health. Health questions in the same wording were also included in the census ten years ago, which is why the results will provide an overview of Estonian people’s health and how it has changed in a decade.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2024, Estonia’s exports of goods decreased by 14% and imports by 11% compared with June 2023. Exports of goods amounted to nearly 1.4 billion and imports to more than 1.6 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 268 million euros, which is 20 million more than in June last year.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that both exports and imports of goods increased in March, as in the first two months of the year. “Exports of goods grew in all commodity sections. The rise in exports was influenced by an even larger increase in re-exports, which rose by 27% year on year. This was mainly due to an increase in the re-exports of transport equipment,” Leppmets noted. According to Statistics Estonia, gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 3.6% in the 2nd quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries increased by 3% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. Similarly to the 1st quarter, construction volume increased due to work done in foreign countries, whereas construction volume on the domestic market decreased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, the average monthly gross wages and salaries of Estonian enterprises, institutions and organisations were 1,407 euros, i.e. 7.4% higher than in 2018. The average monthly gross wages and salaries were higher in the second and fourth quarters.
