According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 900 euros and increased 5.0% compared to the 2nd quarter of the previous year. The increase was smaller than in the previous quarters.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2016, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,091 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.86 euros. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2015, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 8.1% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.7%. In the 1st quarter, the average annual growth of monthly gross wages and salaries was slightly faster than in the 4th quarter of 2015.

Lauri Veski, manager of the consumer price statistics service team at Statistics Estonia, said that the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2025 came from price increases related to food and non-alcoholic beverages. “The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 6.9% last year,” said Veski. Among food products, the biggest rise occurred in the prices of chocolate (31.5%), coffee (31%), poultry (15.2%) and fresh fruits and berries (12.7%). On the other hand, there was a decrease in the prices of sugar (17.1%), potatoes (5.7%), fresh or chilled fish (3.9%) and processed fruit

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,874 kroons (759 euros) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 72.00 kroons (4.60 euros). Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 0.9% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 0.3% higher.

Buses transported 41.6 million passengers and travelled 39 million kilometres in the first quarter. Anton Kardakov, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that the most used type of bus transport was once again urban bus lines. “In the first quarter, the number of bus passengers on urban lines increased by 6% year on year, reaching 34.2 million. According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2016, the change of the consumer price index was 0.7% compared to January 2016 and -0.5% compared to February of the previous year.
