According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served over 384,000 tourists in June 2024, which is 14% more than in June last year. There were more domestic as well as foreign tourists accommodated.
According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served 507,600 tourists in July 2024, which is 5% more than in July last year. The number of foreign tourists increased, but the number of domestic tourists decreased in July.
Today and tomorrow are the last days when it is still possible to participate in the Estonian e-census. All Estonian residents are invited to complete the survey. By today, January 21, more than 530,000 persons, i.e. 40% of the population, have been enumerated on the basis of the census e-questionnaire.
Secure data interoperability Statistics Estonia received 1,099,300 euros via the innovation fund for the project “Secure data interoperability between sectors”. The innovation fund is administered by the Government Office of Estonia, and its activities and projects are funded under the European Union Cohesion Policy 2021–2027 measure “Development of innovation capacities in the public sector”. The aim of the project is to create a framework for data interoperability between the private and public sectors. After a few years of stagnation, 2016 can be considered rather successful for enterprises – the turnover, investments as well as the number of active enterprises increased by 4%. The improved results were reflected also in profits – the profit for the reporting year increased by 11%. Productivity indicators improved also.
Statistics Estonia reminds that there are only a few days left when the population can participate in the e-census and recommends not leaving it for the last moment. The census can be completed online only until 31 January late hours.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2018, the total profit of the business sector was 726 million euros, which is 12% less than in the same period the year before.
