The first population and housing census in re-independent Estonia was carried out from 31 March to 9 April in 2000. The Census was prepared and conducted according to the recommendations of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat), which guarantee that the census data are internationally comparable. 777 tonnes of pesticides by active substance were placed on the market in Estonia in 2022, which is a sixth less than in 2021 and less than in 2020 as well. The majority of pesticides sold were again herbicides.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the fourth quarter of 2022, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 12% and imports by 25% at current prices compared with the fourth quarter in 2021. Services were sold to non-residents for a total of 3 billion and purchased for 2.2 billion euros. The balance of foreign trade in services was therefore in surplus by 765 million euros in the fourth quarter, which is 125 million euros less than in the same period a year earlier. In 2022 as a whole, exports of services grew by 31% and imports by 19%.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in September 2020 was -0.3% compared to August 2020 and -1.1% compared to September 2019. Year on year, goods were 0.7% and services 1.7% cheaper.

According to Statistics Estonia, the Dwelling Price Index increased by 5.9% in 2018 compared to the average of 2017. Year-on-year, the prices of apartments increased by 6.4% and the prices of houses by 4.7%.
