In the international phase of the European Statistics competition, students had to make a video using official statistics to introduce their country. In the senior age group, the winner was team Radiaator from Hugo Treffner Gymnasium. The team members were Toomas Roosma, Kertu Liisa Lepik and Paul Erik Olli, supervised by Kerli Orav-Puurand.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, compared to 2017, the number of passengers on the main scheduled domestic ship lines increased by 3%, but the number of international traffic passengers served by Estonian ports decreased by 1%. The freight volume of ports in tonnes increased by around 3%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 5.7% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month a year earlier. Production increased by 19.3% in mining and by 2.6% in electricity production but decreased by 7% in manufacturing.

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.7% in September 2023 compared with August and decreased by 2.5% compared with September last year.

Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2024 came from price increases related to food and non-alcoholic beverages, which accounted for 23.7% of the total index rise. The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 3.2% last year. “Among food products, the biggest rise occurred in the prices of olive oil (44%) and juices and syrups (36.7%).
