29% of people in Estonia are estimated to be affiliated with a religion. This figure has remained unchanged over the last three population censuses. However, the proportion of people who do not feel an affiliation to any religion has increased – from 54% in 2011 to 58% in 2021. The most prevalent religion in Estonia is Orthodox Christianity.

Industrial production down by 1.1% in October

Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that manufacturing production in October decreased for the second month in a row. “Although the volume of industrial production was up in half of the manufacturing activities in October, the overall volume of the sector declined, mainly due to a decrease in the production of computers and electronic products (3.1%), food products (1.9%), and electrical equipment (6.8%). According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, life expectancy at birth for Estonian inhabitants was 78.8 years. Male life expectancy was 74.4 years and female life expectancy was 82.8 years for the second year in a row. Men are expected to live disability-free for 55.5 years and women for 59.5 years.

The Cultural Participation Survey conducted by Statistics Estonia reveals that over half a million people in Estonia went to the cinema at least once last year. Almost the same number of people attended a concert. Overall, 79% of residents aged 15 and over participated in a cultural event in 2023.
