From 2025 onwards, Statistics Estonia will no longer update short-term labour market statistics. The publication of short-term labour market statistics was based on a commissioning contract and the contract expired in 2024. Interactive charts give an overview of the labour market in Estonia based on the data of the employment register. They show changes in the number of employment relationships: how many were started, suspended or terminated. There is also a time series of the changes in these indicators. The number of employment relationships is based on entries in the employment register

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 12,259 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 74.25 kroons. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2008, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 6.5% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 6.7% lower.

According to Statistics Estonia, there were almost 8,900 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 3rd quarter of 2015. The number of job vacancies increased by 4.8% compared to the previous quarter and by 3.3% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2014.

According to Statistics Estonia, there were about 8,300 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 1st quarter of 2016. The number of job vacancies increased by 25% compared to the previous quarter and by 14% compared to the 1st quarter of 2015.

According to Statistics Estonia, the average gross monthly wages and salaries in the first quarter of 2023 were 1,741 euros, which is 13.3% higher than at the same time last year. The median wages, however, were 1,424 euros. The average real wages in the first quarter of 2023 were 1,443 euros, 3.2% lower than last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 887 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.34 euros. Compared to 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 5.7% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries 6.0%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2019, the gross hourly earnings of female employees were 17.1% lower than the gross hourly earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 0.9 percentage points year on year.
