According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 814 euros (12,735 kroons) and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 4.83 euros (75.63 kroons). Compared to the 4th quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 3.9% higher and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 1.9% higher.

According to Statistics Estonia, on the basis of the first estimates of 2010 Agricultural Census the number of agricultural holdings has decreased almost three times as compared to the last, 2001 Agricultural Census. At the same time the agricultural area has increased 8%. It shows that agricultural activity is concentrating more and more into larger holdings.

Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index rose for the second month in a row. “The rise has been of roughly the same magnitude, standing at 0.5% in September and 0.6% in October,” noted Šokman. Exports of goods amounted to over €1.4 billion and imports to nearly €1.7 billion at current prices. The trade deficit was €264 million, which is €63 million higher than in August last year.
