According to Statistics Estonia, in 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 949 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.73 euros. Compared to 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 7.0% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 7.3%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2011, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 865 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 5.19 euros. Compared to the 4th quarter of 2010, the average monthly gross wages and salaries grew 6.3% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.4%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2016, the unemployment rate was 6.8%, the employment rate 65.6% and the labour force participation rate 70.4%. Within a year, 8,300 additional people entered the labour market, which mainly results from the decrease in the number of inactive persons. Compared to 2015, the number of inactive people in the labour market has decreased by 9,700 persons.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2009, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 11,770 kroons and the hourly gross wages and salaries were 71.76 kroons. Compared to the 3rd quarter of the previous year, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were by 5.9% lower and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were by 5.8% lower. The average monthly gross wages and salaries has been decreasing for three quarters running compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2012, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased 8.8% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries increased 7.1%.

Jane Leppmets, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that exports of goods increased in September and in the third quarter overall. “Although re-exports fell by 1% in September, the rise in total exports was driven by the 4% increase in exports of goods of Estonian origin. The share of goods of Estonian origin in total exports grew by one percentage point year on year, reaching 64%” added Leppmets. There was a significant rise in trade with non-EU countries. Exports to EU countries were down and imports from the EU were stable, but there was a 21% increase in exports to non-EU countries, and

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2018, the exports of goods increased by 7% and imports by 11% compared to May 2017. The growth in trade in May of this year was broad-based, with increased exports and imports in mineral products.
