According to Statistics Estonia, 22.8% of Estonia’s population lived at risk of poverty and 1.4% in absolute poverty in 2021. Compared with 2020, the share of people living at risk of poverty rose 2.2% and the share of people living in absolute poverty fell 0.8%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,904 euros, which is 9.7% higher than in the same quarter the year before. In 2023 as a whole, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,832 euros, up by 11.3% compared with 2022. The Cultural Participation Survey conducted by Statistics Estonia reveals that over half a million people in Estonia went to the cinema at least once last year. Almost the same number of people attended a concert. Overall, 79% of residents aged 15 and over participated in a cultural event in 2023.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2010, the net sales of the business sector amounted to 118 billion kroons. Compared to the previous quarter, the seasonally adjusted net sales increased for the first time after the two years decline.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the total construction volume of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad increased by 9% year on year. Considering only the Estonian construction market, the rise in construction volume was 10%.

According to Statistics Estonia, more than 251,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in October 2023, which is 7% less than in October last year and 8% less than in September this year. Year on year, accommodation establishments hosted fewer foreign as well as domestic tourists.
