According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2019, milk production increased by 3% and meat production by 5%, while egg production was smaller than ever. Compared to 2018, the number of dairy cows, sheep and poultry decreased, while the number of pigs increased.

In April, the trade deficit was 365 million euros, which is 18 million euros more than in April 2025. Jane Leppmets, foreign trade statistics analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the year-on-year increase in total exports was influenced the most by the 19% rise in re-exports, i.e. the exports of previously imported goods. “Re-exports of fuels showed the biggest growth.
