On 4–5 June, the Eurostat committee assessing the correspondence of the methodology of Member States’ financial statistics to the international standards was visiting Statistics Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January, compared to January 2017, the exports of goods increased by 9% and imports decreased by 8%. The growth in exports was broad‑based, increase occurred in most commodity sections.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2019, turnover increased in most economic activities. Trade, manufacturing and information and communication enterprises contributed the most to the turnover of the business sector. The growth in the sector’s turnover was negatively affected mainly by energy and mining.

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2017, the production of industrial enterprises increased 3% compared to November 2016. Production increased in mining and quarrying and manufacturing, but decreased in the energy sector.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 4th quarter of 2009 the construction price index fell 10.0% compared to the 4th quarter of 2008. In 2009, the index fell 8.5% compared to the average of 2008.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2017, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and in foreign countries amounted to 2.5 billion euros, which was 18% more than in 2016. Taking into account only Estonian construction market, construction volume increased 23%. Construction volume increased for the second consecutive year.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the most significant changes in April concerned extra-EU trade. “Exports to EU countries were up by 8% and imports from the EU fell by 1%. In trade with non-EU countries, exports declined by 10% while imports grew by 16%. Year on year, there were decreased exports from Estonia to the United States, Russia and Singapore, and increased imports from Turkey and Switzerland,” explained Leppmets. According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2022, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,593 euros, which is 8.1% more than at the same time last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2018, the production of industrial enterprises increased 8% compared to March 2017. Production increased in manufacturing as well in mining and in energy.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2017, the exports of goods increased by 6% and imports by 9% compared to July 2016. Increased imports of base metals and articles of base metal and transport equipment contributed to the growth in imports.
