According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, there were 8,689 vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 27% less than in the third quarter of 2019. The biggest labour turnover was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, manufacturing, and education.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2022, there were 13,334 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 26% more than in the same quarter of 2021. Approximately 5,000 people left their jobs at the initiative of the employer.

During the data literacy week, which begins on 27 March, Statistics Estonia invites all young people or anyone else who is interested to improve their data literacy. The main event of this week is Küsimus24, a 24-hour question marathon organised for the first time, during which anyone can submit a question to Statistics Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May, the consumer price index increased by 0.1% compared with April and by 2.9% compared with May 2023. Goods were 2.6% and services 3.3% more expensive than in May last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2022, there were 13,076 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 38% more than in the same quarter of 2021. More than 4,000 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.

Census data show that 58% of the population was employed at the end of 2021, which is 6 percentage points more than 10 years ago. The increase is mainly due to persons of retirement age, but also slightly to the unemployed and students.
