According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the second quarter of 2024, Estonia’s exports and imports of services both grew by 3%. Exports of services totalled 3.1 billion euros and imports of services 2.3 billion euros at current prices. The balance of foreign trade in services was in surplus by 802 million euros, which is 39 million euros more than in the second quarter last year.
Jane Leppmets, a foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that growth in foreign trade in services was most affected by travel services and other business services. “In the third quarter, exports of services to EU countries increased by 8% and imports from EU countries by 4%. Extra-EU exports of services were also up by 8%, however, extra-EU imports were down by 4%. The latter was mainly affected by a decline in purchases of services from the United States,” Leppmets pointed out. According to Statistics Estonia, there were 8,600 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 3rd quarter of 2013. Compared to the same period of the previous year their number increased by 12.3%, and compared to the previous quarter by 12.7%.
According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2017, the exports of goods increased by 8% and imports by 12% compared to August 2016. Increased exports and imports of mineral products and mechanical appliances contributed to trade growth.
According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2018, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 2% compared to September 2017. Production increased in manufacturing and energy, but decreased in mining.
According to Statistics Estonia’s population projection, in 2080, there will be approximately 1.2 million people in Estonia. Over the next 60 years, the population of Estonia will decrease by 11%, in the next 25 years, by 35,800 persons, and by 2080, by 145,200 persons.
According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2018, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.2% compared to February and by 2.9% compared to March 2017.
