What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation are received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board, and data on harvested areas and production are obtained from the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and the rest are collected from respondents with the survey. According to Statistics Estonia, the average yield of cereals was 2,625 kilograms per hectare in 2018. This is a third less than in 2017.

Statistics Estonia: people stay in one location 20 hours per day on average

Statistics Estonia’s mobility analysis revealed that since the emergency situation and movement restrictions were implemented, people living in Estonia stay in their main location 20 hours per day on average. The distance covered in one day as well as the number of trips has decreased. The revised analysis shows that the share of people staying in their main location has increased by 16 percentage points, which means that an estimated 200,000 more people have stayed local.

Consumer price index continued to fall in October

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in October 2020 was -0.5% compared to September 2020 and -1.5% compared to October 2019. Year on year, goods were 0.9% and services 2.4% cheaper.

More foreign tourists in Estonian accommodation establishments

According to Statistics Estonia, 223,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in January. Their total number of nights spent was 411,000. 58% of the tourists were foreign tourists and 42% were domestic tourists.
