The EKOMAR questionnaire has been designed to obtain more detailed data on the financial indicators of enterprises in order to assess Estonia's economic growth and prepare business overviews. The reference period for the EKOMAR questionnaire is a calendar year . In order to facilitate completion, the questionnaire is designed to be as similar as possible to the annual report. The annual report (AR) filed with the Business Register is one of the most important datasets used in the production of statistics. On the basis of AR data, the EKOMAR questionnaire is prefilled in the self-service

According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2023, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 5% at constant prices compared with the third quarter of 2022. Considering only the domestic market, the fall in construction volume was 7%.

According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011) of Statistics Estonia, 67% of persons employed in Estonia worked in service sector, 29% in industrial sector and only 4% in primary sector.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the average monthly gross income per employee was 1,234 euros, which is 79 euros more than in 2017. Gross income has been on the rise since 2011.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate rose to 15.5% in the 4th quarter of 2009, the annual average unemployment rate was 13.8%. Almost one third of the unemployed have been unemployed for a year or more.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2018, the unemployment rate was 6.8%, the employment rate 66.6% and the labour force participation rate 71.4%. Compared to the 1st quarter of 2017, economic activity of the population increased mainly due to an increase in unemployment but somewhat also due to an increase in employment.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2019, in total 233,000 domestic and foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which is 3% less than in March 2018. The number of domestic tourists increased and the number of foreign tourists decreased compared to March last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased 6.4% at constant prices compared with July 2021. Output rose in one of the three sectors – up 5.2% in electricity production – but fell 6.4% in manufacturing and 17.5% in mining.

In 2010, part-time working was influenced both by employees’ gender and age of their children, the biggest share of part-time employees were among women with children aged up to 2 years. This has been proved in Statistics Estonia’s publication “Man’s home is the world, woman’s world is her home?”
