The virtual exhibition 100 Years of Estonian Statistics concludes the year of the 100th anniversary of Statistics Estonia by taking the viewers on a discovery trip from the first official data on the population of Estonia to the classified statistics of the Soviet Union.

Today, on 31 March, Statistics Estonia holds a meeting with the representatives of chief and authorised processors of registers and databases. The participants will discuss how well the registers are prepared for the register-based population and housing census in 2020/2021.

What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation are received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board, and data on harvested areas and production are obtained from the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and the rest are collected from respondents with the survey. The journal Akadeemia erects a monument to the 7 billion people on Earth

Today, on 9 December, at 15:00, the journal Akadeemia will present its latest issue at club Atlantis in Tartu. The launch of the issue, which is dedicated to the coming population census, will begin on the bank of the River Emajõgi where, just for one evening, the monument celebrating the birth of Tartu’s one hundred thousandth citizen will be turned into a monument to the seven billion people of the Earth.
