The rise in services exports slowed down in the third quarter

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the third quarter of 2023, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 1% and imports by 3% at current prices compared with the same quarter of 2022. Sales of services to non-residents totalled 2.8 billion euros and purchases of services from non-residents amounted to 2.2 billion euros. The balance of foreign trade in services was in surplus by 557 million euros.

The total number of vacant and occupied posts in the fourth quarter was a little under 599,000. “The number of vacant posts was the highest in public administration and defence and compulsory social security (1,277). The number of occupied posts was the greatest in manufacturing (98,898),” said Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia. Vacant posts accounted for 1.5% of the total number of posts. According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2008 compared to November of the previous year the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises decreased 9% at constant prices.
