According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, the construction price index increased by 0.4% compared to the average of 2019. In the fourth quarter of 2020, compared to the third quarter, the construction price index rose by 0.4%, and compared to the fourth quarter of 2019, fell by 0.1%.

Epp Remmelg, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the at-risk-of-poverty rate reflects income inequality in a country. “In 2023, close to 274,800 people lived at risk of poverty – nearly 29,000 fewer than in 2022. According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2024, exports of goods decreased by 15% and imports by 10% compared with February 2023. Exports of goods amounted to about 1.3 billion and imports to 1.5 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 202 million euros, which is 67 million euros more than in February last year.

In 2023, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to €18.2 billion and imports to €21.2 billion at current prices. Exports decreased by 16% and imports by 17% compared with 2022. The trade deficit reached €3 billion. Jane Leppmets, an analyst at Statistics Estonia, writes on 2023 trends in foreign trade of goods.

In 2012, Statistics Estonia will collect the data from nearly 40,000 economic units. From now on, it is possible to check on the web site of Statistics Estonia whether the economic unit has been picked into the sample and has an obligation to submit the data.
