Statistics Estonia has announced a competition for engaging 25 personnel specialists who will conduct the recruitment of the Census employees this autumn and winter. For conducting the 2011 Population and Housing Census, over 2,400 Census employees must be recruited.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, compared to 2016, the number of international traffic passengers served by Estonian ports increased by 3%, the number of national traffic passengers increased by 7% and the freight volume of ports in tonnes increased by 3%.

The increase in the population figure was also influenced by changes in the calculation methodology, resulting in 1,599 persons being added to the population.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 20% and imports by 28% compared with August 2021. Imports from Russia fell by 55% and imports from Belarus by 96% year on year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010 a household member spent less than in 2007, but at the same time the share of compulsory expenditure in household budget increased.
