According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2021, there were 11,518 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This number increased by a third year on year. More than 8,500 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.

Evelin Puura, the foreign trade statistics team lead at Statistics Estonia, pointed out that Estonia's exports were significantly affected by the re-exports of previously imported goods which increased by 30% year on year. “The rise in re-exports was mainly due to transport equipment,” Puura added. Exports of goods of Estonian origin grew by 4% compared with February last year, accounting for 65% of total exports. The rise was mainly due to the increased exports of processed fuels and shale oil as well as measuring instruments. Electrical equipment was the top commodity exported in February

During the population and housing census, information on the highest level of education attained by inhabitants of Estonia was also gathered. Collected data revealed that the educational attainment of the population continues to rise. The level of education of foreigners living in here has also increased significantly. According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2022, the labour force participation rate was 73.1%, the employment rate was 69%, and the unemployment rate was 5.5%*.
