Sigrid Saagpakk, analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that Statistics Estonia uses the data of the employment register of the Estonian Tax and Customs Board to estimate the number of occupied posts and labour turnover. Data on job vacancies, however, are collected by Statistics Estonia using a questionnaire. According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served 381,000 tourists, which is a tenth more than in the same month last year. The number of domestic tourists increased compared to both July 2020 and July 2019, while the number of foreign tourists remained significantly smaller than in previous years.
The turnover of retail trade enterprises grew by 4% last year

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in 2020 was nearly 7.7 billion euros. Compared to 2019, turnover increased by 4% at constant prices.
In October, the producer price index did not change

In October, the producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for exports, was at the same level as in September. Compared to October 2019, the producer price index decreased by 1.9%.

“In the third quarter, overall labour market indicators improved compared with both the third quarter of last year and the second quarter of this year,” stated Tea Vassiljeva, analyst at Statistics Estonia. She added that there were a total of 54,200 unemployed persons in the third quarter, which is 5,000 fewer than in the second quarter and 2,100 fewer than in the third quarter of last year. According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served 216,000 tourists, which is almost a third more than in June last year. There were more domestic tourists and fewer foreign tourists, but the total number of accommodated guests was significantly lower than in 2019 before the coronavirus crisis.
