According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2021, the population of Estonia was 1,330,068, which is 1,179 persons more than the year before*. Last year, the population figure decreased by 2,602 persons due to negative natural increase but increased by 3,782 persons as a result of positive net migration.

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2024, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was €842 million. Compared with April 2023, the volume of retail trade turnover fell by 3%.
The number of accommodated tourists increased in October

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2021, Estonian accommodation establishments served over 227,000 tourists, which is 44% more than in the same month last year. The numbers of domestic tourists and foreign tourists both increased.
The census begins tomorrow

At 00:00 on Saturday, 31 December, the eleventh population and housing census will begin in Estonia. In January, residents can participate in the census online, by completing the census questionnaire at www.rel2011.ee.

E-census has come to an end

Today, at midnight of 2 February, the e-census which had lasted for a month came to an end. The first results of the e-census will be released by Statistics Estonia on Monday, 6 February.
