Everyone living in Estonia is welcome to fill in a short e-questionnaire for the Census

From today until 22 January 2022, the e-questionnaire for the Population and Housing Census is open. Everyone living in Estonia is welcome to respond to the e-census. Only people who are included in the survey sample may expect a phone call or visit from a census taker if they have not filled in the e-questionnaire.

Foreign trade statistics are on the brink of changes. Our goal is to start reducing the administrative burden. In order to do that, we need to first introduce some changes in our existing foreign trade questionnaire INTRASTAT (dispatches and arrivals). These changes will allow the transition to SIMSTAT, i.e. single flow collection, starting from 2025. The briefing session gives information about filling in the updated questionnaire as well as creating related IT solutions. Museum attendance fell despite a large number of exhibitions

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, there were 174 museums in Estonia with 229 museum sites. The number of museum visits was nearly 1.7 million, which is 59,000 fewer than in 2020 and the lowest in the past 18 years.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 915 million euros. Compared with June 2021, turnover decreased by 1% at constant prices.

Consumer price index on the rise again

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in June 2020 was 0.9% compared to May 2020 and –1% compared to June of the previous year. Compared to June 2019, goods were 0.8% and services 1.2% cheaper.

The increase in the number of job vacancies continued in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, there were more than 8,100 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 2nd quarter of 2012 – this is 29% more than in the same period last year. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the number of job vacancies has been increasing since the 2nd quarter of 2010, after the decline in 2008 and 2009.
