Since 2014, 73,400 foreign citizens have become e-residents of Estonia. 20% of these e-residents have participated in founding a business and over 14,200 businesses have been registered in Estonia with their participation. We looked into where e-residents come from and what are the activities of their Estonian enterprises.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2009, 2.1 million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments. Compared to the previous year, the number of tourists decreased by a tenth.

Economic entities include enterprises and non-profit entities, for instance, non-profit associations and state agencies. “In the second quarter, exports of services exceeded imports by €815 million. According to Statistics Estonia’s population projection, in 2080, there will be approximately 1.2 million people in Estonia. Over the next 60 years, the population of Estonia will decrease by 11%, in the next 25 years, by 35,800 persons, and by 2080, by 145,200 persons.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2019, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 7.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018. The average hourly gross wages and salaries were 8.22 euros, which is 9% more than in the same quarter of 2018.
