The e-census part of the Estonian Population and Housing Census ended on Saturday, January 22. According to the preliminary data, 568,891 persons, i.e. 43% of the Estonian population, were enumerated.

Changes to the questionnaire Wages and salaries and labour force (1462)

From 2023 onwards, there will be changes to the questionnaire “Wages and salaries and labour force” (1462). The changes are related to the increased use of register data in the production of wage statistics. The data collected with the questionnaire will be used to produce labour cost indices and job vacancy statistics. Previously (until the end of 2022), this questionnaire was also used to collect data for average wage statistics. The number of accommodated foreign tourists grew by a third in March

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 226,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in March 2023, which is 18% more than in March last year. The average cost of an overnight stay increased by 15% year on year.

The growth of industrial production was still slow in May

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2022, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 4.8% at constant prices compared to May 2021. Output increased in all three industrial sectors: by 2.2% in manufacturing, by 34.2% in electricity production and by 25.5% in mining.
