According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2013 compared to May of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 7% at constant prices. In April the retail sales increased 5% compared to the same month of the previous year, while in May the retail sales growth accelerated to some extent.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the upward trend in foreign trade, which started in the second half of 2024, continued in January this year. “In intra-EU trade, exports were up by 11% and imports by 9%. According to Statistics Estonia, in 2011 compared to the previous year, the electricity production from renewable sources has increased by 13%. During the last five years the share of electricity generated from oil shale has decreased by nearly a tenth. At the same time the electricity production from renewable sources has increased eight times.
Exports and imports reached a record high in March

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 35% and imports by 31% compared to March 2021. Compared to the first quarter of last year, exports grew by 30% and imports by 34%. In March and in the first quarter as a whole, trade was primarily boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral fuels and electricity.
