According to Statistics Estonia, in August, the consumer price index increased by 0.4% compared with July and by 3.2% compared with August 2023. Goods were 1.4% and services 6.3% more expensive than in August last year.

Piret Pukk, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that Estonian residents have been travelling more in recent years but are still not making as many trips as before the pandemic, especially as concerns outbound trips. “Last year, the number of domestic trips was again over two times bigger than the number of outbound trips. Industrial production fell by 4.7% in April

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises fell by 4.7% compared with April last year. Among the three main sectors, output increased by 3.6% in mining and by 10.1% in electricity production but decreased by 5.7% in manufacturing.

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 222,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in February 2023, which is 31% more than in February last year. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased.

Population and Housing Census main rehearsal starts at year end

On 30 December, Statistics Estonia starts a month-long test survey of the Population and Housing Census to check readiness for the big census. Around 2,000 persons are included in the main rehearsal of the population census.
