  3. Producer price index of industrial output down by 0.5% in December
Eveli Šokman, the producer price statistics service manager at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index declined in December after three months of trending upwards. “Compared with December 2024, the index was affected the most by falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and in electricity and heat energy production. Higher prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, peat production, and the manufacture of food products had the opposite effect on the index,” added Šokman. In manufacturing as a whole, the index was unchanged year on year. In the

  3. The economy continued to grow slightly in Q3
Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, said that although the economy has shown slight growth for two consecutive quarters, the contribution of most sectors has remained insignificant. “Manufacturing was the biggest positive contributor to GDP in the third quarter, with its value added growing by 7.9%. 3. Share of environmental goods and services sector in GDP up by a quarter in eight years
Kaia Oras, a leading expert at Statistics Estonia, explained that the growth in demand for environmental goods and services has been due to both increased awareness of environmental problems as well as higher environmental and energy saving requirements, especially in construction. “The rapid growth in energy-efficient new construction and reconstruction of buildings has a huge impact. Together, these generated €1.5 billion in output,” Oras added. Among the energy produced from renewables, electricity and heat production from renewable energy sources accounted for €482.2 million and the
