What kind of survey is it? The Estonian Health Interview Survey assesses the health status of the Estonian population, the factors influencing it, and the use of health services. The 2025 survey consists of two parts: the core survey, which is part of the fourth wave of the European Union Health Interview Survey and part of the official statistical programme; 18 additional voluntary questions that specify Estonia's needs in shaping health policy. Introduction of renewable sources of energy has significantly reduced the share of oil shale in electricity production

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2011 compared to the previous year, the electricity production from renewable sources has increased by 13%. During the last five years the share of electricity generated from oil shale has decreased by nearly a tenth. At the same time the electricity production from renewable sources has increased eight times.

2018 was a good year in terms of film production as well as cinema attendance

According to Statistics Estonia, 34 full-length films were produced in Estonia in 2018, of which 22 were distributed in cinemas in the same year. Cinema attendance set a new record – 3.6 million visits, i.e. 275 visits per 100 inhabitants.

Johanna Linda Pihlak , analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with November 2024, turnover volume fell by 5% in grocery stores and by 1% in stores selling manufactured goods. “The turnover volume of enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel continued to increase and was up by 13% year on year,” added Pihlak.
