Today and tomorrow are the last days when it is still possible to participate in the Estonian e-census. All Estonian residents are invited to complete the survey. By today, January 21, more than 530,000 persons, i.e. 40% of the population, have been enumerated on the basis of the census e-questionnaire.

Jane Leppmets, analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that, compared with 2024, exports of services to European Union countries increased by 4% in the first quarter of this year, while imports from these countries grew by 8%. Exports of services to non-EU countries rose by 6% and imports from these countries increased by 18%. “The latter was mainly due to higher imports of services from Cyprus, the United Kingdom, and the United States. At the end of the year, on 28 December, the Population and Housing Census, conducted every ten years, starts in Estonia. Everyone living in Estonia is invited to complete an online questionnaire for the census by 22 January 2022. In February, census takers will call or visit the people for whom filling in the questionnaire is mandatory.

After a few years of stagnation, 2016 can be considered rather successful for enterprises – the turnover, investments as well as the number of active enterprises increased by 4%. Statistics Estonia will resume in-home interviews to collect data for personal surveys. Each week, the spread of COVID-19 in counties will be assessed, and interviewers will visit homes only if the incidence of COVID-19 is medium or low according to the data of the Health Board.
