Being at risk of poverty means that a person’s income is below the at-risk-of-poverty threshold. The threshold is calculated on the basis of equivalised disposable income that takes into account the composition of the household (the weight of the first adult member is 1, the weight of each additional member aged at least 14 years is 0.5 and the weight of everyone under 14 years of age is 0.3), i.e. the total household income is divided by the sum of equivalence scales of household members. According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2013 compared to April of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. When in March the retail sales increased 7% compared to the same month of the previous year, then in April the retail sales growth slightly decelerated.

In order to provide the crisis commission with a quick overview about whether people are complying with movement restrictions, Elisa, Tele2 and Telia decided to take it upon themselves to analyse the mobility of their clients. The data used for the analysis will be entirely anonymous and not real-time. Statistics Estonia will compile the analyses of the mobile network operators and produce an overview for the whole country. The first results are expected to be available in the coming week. The reason for the new decision is the obligation of the operators to protect personal data and ensure anonymity.
