According to Statistics Estonia, the preliminary results of the Farm Structure Survey 2016 indicate that there were 16,700 agricultural holdings with at least one hectare of agricultural area or agricultural holdings mainly producing for sale in Estonia, which is approximately 2,500 holdings less than three years ago.
Working international students and graduates contributed over 13 million euros in taxes in Estonia

Statistics Estonia prepared an analysis for the Estonian Education and Youth Authority on the economic impact of international students working in Estonia. It appeared that during the academic year 2019/2020, international students paid 10 million euros in income and social tax in Estonia and international graduates more than 3 million euros.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, cereal production was 934,100 tonnes in 2016, which is the lowest yield of the previous five years.
Population census. More people speak dialects than in the previous census

It is estimated that 17% of the native Estonian-speaking population speak a dialect. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census. The share of dialect speakers has increased the most in Hiiu and Saare counties, but it has not decreased in any county. 10% of dialect speakers speak more than one dialect.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, on 1 January 2021, the population of Estonia was 1,329,460 persons, which is 480 persons more than at the same time a year ago. Population decreased by 2,590 persons due to negative natural increase and increased by 3,070 persons as a result of positive net migration.
Exports of services up by 7% and imports by 5% in 2024

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that foreign trade in services continues to grow steadily and reached a record level in 2024. “Exports of services were most affected by an increase in sales of telecommunications, computer and information services (up by €459 million) and imports by a rise in purchases of travel services (up by €134 million). Milk production remained at the level of 2015

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the production of milk amounted to 781,400 tonnes in 2016, which was a little less than the year before. The number of dairy cows decreased by the end of the year, while milk yield per cow increased.
