Data from the 2021 census show that the share of people with higher education in Estonia is increasing and the share of people with basic education is decreasing. A fifth of the inhabitants in Estonia have a master's degree, and Tartu and Viimsi stand out for their particularly high concentration of highly educated people.

Today, on 25 February, the Statistical Council held a meeting where they reviewed last year’s results and commended the production of official statistics, but the Council also acknowledged that the statistical system continues to be underfunded. The Council was briefed on the methodology approved by Statistics Estonia for the Population and Housing Census: namely, a register-based census, which is in accordance with EU regulations, combined with a sample survey to collect data on characteristics not covered by registers.

Exports continued to decrease in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2019, compared to September 2018, the exports of goods decreased by 3% and imports increased by 3%. In the third quarter, exports decreased by 2%, having increased in the first two quarters.
In April exports and imports decreased significantly

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in April 2009 exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 7.7 billion kroons at current prices and imports to Estonia 9.5 billion kroons. Compared to April of the previous year, both exports and imports decreased about 40%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2019, compared to May 2018, the exports of goods increased by 8% and imports by 3%. The growth in exports of Estonian goods was significantly influenced by increased sales of prefabricated wood buildings.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in April 2010 compared to April of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 35% and imports by 16% at current prices. The growth in exports was last registered as big in June 2006.
