According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2020, the production of industrial enterprises remained at the level of February 2019. Of the three sectors of industry, production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in energy and mining.

According to Statistics Estonia, 158,000 tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in October, with 284,000 nights spent in total. There was a 45% decrease in the number of visitors compared to October 2019.

Consumer price index continued to fall in October

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in October 2020 was -0.5% compared to September 2020 and -1.5% compared to October 2019. Year on year, goods were 0.9% and services 2.4% cheaper.

The focus of the global goal “Decent Work and Economic Growth” is to ensure sustainable and environmentally friendly economic growth that would not involve excessive and unsustainable use of resources. Sustainable economic growth helps people escape poverty and find employment. Coronavirus and the ensuing economic crisis have affected the labour market also in Estonia. Since April, Statistics Estonia is publishing short-term statistics on changes in the labour market. Interactive charts give an overview of the current labour market situation on the basis of weekly data from the employment register.
