According to Statistics Estonia, compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year, the number of children living in jobless households increased two times.

According to Statistics Estonia in 2010, 17.5% of the Estonian population lived in relative poverty. The percentage of people living in relative poverty increased 1.7 percentage points compared to the previous year. In 2009 the at-risk-of-poverty rate was 15.8%.

According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), 70% of private households live in dwellings with all basic amenities. In the 2000 census, that share was 65%. The availability of comfort characteristics in the dwellings inhabited by households has improved significantly in the last decade.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2010 more than two thirds of households with children considered the condition of their dwelling good or very good. During ten years, the number of such households has increased by a quarter.

Eveli Šokman, team lead of producer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index rose for the second month in a row. “The rise has been of roughly the same magnitude, standing at 0.5% in September and 0.6% in October,” noted Šokman. According to the results of the register-based population and housing census of 2021, there are 341,995 families in Estonia, of which almost half, or 49%, are two-member families.
