One in five e-residents register a business in Estonia

Since 2014, 73,400 foreign citizens have become e-residents of Estonia. 20% of these e-residents have participated in founding a business and over 14,200 businesses have been registered in Estonia with their participation. We looked into where e-residents come from and what are the activities of their Estonian enterprises.

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, fell by 0.8% in December 2023 compared with November and by 4.4% compared with December 2022.

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, fell by 0.1% in November 2023 compared with October and by 3.3% compared with November last year, according to Statistics Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in July 2020 was 0.0% compared to June 2020 and -0.9% compared to July 2019. Goods were 0.2% and services 2.0% cheaper.

Industrial production grew by 2.8% in October

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2021, the total production of industrial enterprises increased by 2.8% year on year. Production increased by 11.8% in energy production and by 3.5% in manufacturing, but decreased by 39.7% in mining.

Albert Pullerits prize awarded to Diana Sokurova

This year, the young statistician’s prize named after Albert Pullerits was awarded to Diana Sokurova. Her master’s thesis, defended at the University of Tartu, is titled “Reducing the Reporting Burden on Health Professionals by Rolling and Two Occasions Designs”.

Life expectancy at birth is the mean number of years that a new-born child can expect to live if subjected throughout the rest of his or her life to the current mortality conditions. The indicator is calculated on the basis of mortality rates of the relevant year and is valid only if they remain unchanged. Mostly, this is not the case, but as a trend, life expectancy reflects changes in people's lifespan and social development compared to the past and other countries. Life expectancy is calculated separately for males and females. It is also calculated by place of residence, nationality and
