According to Statistics Estonia, the average gross monthly wages and salaries in the first quarter of 2023 were 1,741 euros, which is 13.3% higher than at the same time last year. The median wages, however, were 1,424 euros. The average real wages in the first quarter of 2023 were 1,443 euros, 3.2% lower than last year.

In 2023 as a whole, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,832 euros, up by 11.3% compared with 2022. The median monthly gross wages were 1,578 euros in the fourth quarter of 2023 and 1,501 euros in 2023 overall.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia were 1,548 euros, which is 6.9% more than in 2020. Wage growth recovered following a slowdown in 2020 and reached the pre-pandemic level.
