At the same time, extra-EU exports were up by 6%,” noted Puura. The main commodities exported in August were electrical equipment (16% of Estonia’s total exports), agricultural products and food preparations (11%), and wood and articles of wood (11%). According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2024, Estonia’s exports of goods decreased by 6% and imports by 13% compared with May 2023. Exports of goods amounted to nearly €1.6 billion and imports to almost €1.7 billion at current prices. The trade deficit was €144 million, which is €170 million less than in May last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2010 compared to June of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 7% and imports by 23% at current prices. Due to a bigger growth in imports compared to exports, the trade deficit increased.
