In comparison with May 2024, turnover volume grew by 13% in enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel and by 5% in stores selling manufactured goods. Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the decline in the volume of turnover in grocery stores accelerated in May, falling by 5% compared with the same period last year. “The decrease in May was influenced by the continued rise in food prices. Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia, said that the consumer price index in June was up by 0.9% compared with May and by 5% year on year. “Compared with June 2024, the index was affected the most by the 8.4% higher prices of food products.
