The construction price index fell in the 1st quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, the construction price index fell 0.7% at constant prices in the first quarter of 2016 compared to both the 4th and the 1st quarter of 2015.

Large enterprises account for a growing share of agricultural production in Estonia

According to the preliminary data of the Agricultural Census conducted by Statistics Estonia, there are 11,400 agricultural holdings in Estonia, which is 3,800 fewer than ten years ago. 84% of the agricultural output is contributed by 1,300 largest producers who use more than two thirds of the utilised agricultural area and account for more than a half of agricultural labour.

Crop farming survey

What kind of survey is it? The crop farming survey provides data about areas under cultivation and harvested areas of agricultural crops, production and yield, fertilisers, organic farming, liming, seed use, and autumn sowings of winter crops. A large part of the data are obtained from registers (for example, data on areas under cultivation received from the Agricultural Registers and Information Board and data on units that fill in the electronic field book in e-ARIB), and missing data are collected from respondents with the survey. Foreign trade declined further in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to almost 1.5 billion and imports to nearly 1.7 billion euros. Compared with the same month in 2022, exports of goods decreased by 24% and imports by 22% at current prices. The trade deficit in September was 207 million euros, which is 13 million euros more than in September last year.

Population census. Young people have more health problems than 10 years ago

According to the 2021 census, an estimated one third of the population have a long-term illness or health problem. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census in 2011. 28% of the population are limited in their daily activities because of a health problem.

In the 3rd quarter the number of job vacancies increased

According to Statistics Estonia, there were 8,600 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 3rd quarter of 2013. Compared to the same period of the previous year their number increased by 12.3%, and compared to the previous quarter by 12.7%.
