Statistical thresholds In 2023, the statistical threshold for the dispatches of goods is 270,000 euros (last year, it was 200,000 euros). It means that, in 2023, Intrastat data have to be submitted by those enterprises whose turnover of goods dispatched to European Union countries exceeded 270,000 euros in 2022. If enterprises exceed the statistical threshold in 2023, they will also have to submit Intrastat data. The statistical threshold for the arrivals of goods is 400,000 euros (the same as last year). Mineral fuels impacted the decline in exports in January

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2023, exports and imports of goods at current prices decreased by 9% and 1% respectively, compared with the same month in 2022. Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.8 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 272 million euros, up by 127 million euros from a year earlier.

Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, said that, compared with the previous quarter, the economy was stable. “Compared with the second quarter of 2024, the seasonally and working-day adjusted GDP was up by 0.1%,” noted Müürsepp. According to Eurostat , the EU economy showed slightly faster growth in the third quarter, as the increase in GDP was 0.9% year on year.
