According to Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia grew by 3.7% in the 2nd quarter of 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, noted that the biggest decline at 4% was registered in the turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods. During the population and housing census, information on the highest level of education attained by inhabitants of Estonia was also gathered. According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate rose to 19.8% in the 1st quarter of 2010. Over one third of the unemployed have been unemployed for a year or more.
