According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2017 compared to November 2016, the exports of goods increased by 8% and imports by 9%. The growth in exports and imports was broad-based, a small increase occurred in most commodity sections.

“Last year, the average number of museum visits per person in Estonia was 1.9. The highest museum attendance was seen in Saare and Lääne counties, where there were respectively 4.1 and 3.9 museum visits per person. In Tallinn, the city with the most museums, the average number of visits per person stood at 2.9. Museum attendance was lowest in Rapla county (0.3), with modest figures observed also in Valga (0.7) and Viljandi (0.8) counties,” said Erik Lest, analyst at Statistics Estonia. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, in February, there was an increase in total industrial production as well as in the volume of manufacturing production. “The rise in manufacturing production was mainly due to the 7.3% increase in the manufacture of food products, where output was boosted significantly by the manufacture of milk and manufacture of other food products, including sugar, sugar confectionery, prepared meals, tea and coffee, and spices,” explained Bunder. According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2018, the exports of goods decreased by 3% and imports increased by 4% compared to March 2017. In the first quarter of the current year, exports increased by 6% and imports by 2%, compared to the same period of 2017.

According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased by 3.6% in the 1st quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The GDP growth decelerated for the second quarter in succession.

In the third quarter, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises was €1.1 billion, including €684 million worth of building construction and €455 million worth of civil engineering. Compared with the third quarter of last year, the volume of building construction was down by 1.9%, whereas the volume of civil engineering works (roads, bridges, port facilities, pipelines, communication and electricity lines, sports fields, etc.) was up by 1.6%.
