According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2023, there were 11,461 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 12% less than in the same quarter of 2022. Over 6,000 persons left their job at the initiative of the employer.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2020, there were 8,088 vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. Compared to the second quarter of 2019, the number decreased by 28%. In the second quarter, 39,540 persons were hired and 50,184 persons left work. Every fourth person left on the employer’s initiative.

The construction price index expresses the change in the cost of construction taking into consideration the price changes of basic inputs. These are divided into three main groups: labour, building materials and building machines. The calculation of the construction price index covers four groups of buildings: detached houses, blocks of flats, industrial buildings and office buildings. Price information is collected by a sample survey covering construction, rental and wholesale companies and retail enterprises in ten cities. The construction price index is published quarterly.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the second quarter of 2021, there were 10,542 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. The number increased by 30% year on year. More than 12,000 persons left their jobs on the employer’s initiative.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2021, the biggest increase compared to the previous year occurred in people’s use of the internet for participating in online courses. The popularity of e-commerce also grew, with 62% of the population aged 16–74 having made online purchases. Among enterprises, the use of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management software continues to increase. Enterprises are also trying out AI technologies.
